We don't know how long we're going to be here and I don't know how long I'm going to be with Liz. But then I start thinking about how long I've been here and it's basically been about and eighth of my life. And I start thinking maybe I'm not gonna go back so it's okay for me to make that commitment, even if it isn't right now.

I don’t ascribe metaphysical significance to marriage, but it feels damn good.

I like the commitment. I like calling someone my wife/husband. I’m old like that.

Are you happier being married than not being married?

Extremely. It’s something I’ve wanted for a non-insignificant amount of tome.

Regardless, it was a ‘Yes. This is it. This is what I want.’ moment both times.

I guess I don't know if I feel that way that strongly. It's not that I don't like Liz enough or anything, I just don't know if it's the right time.

Did you ever feel that way when you proposed?

No. It was certain. Anything less would have been a disservice to the proposee.

I think I'm going to wait. There's not any real reason to rush into it.
