As lively as he felt these days, it felt right to give his beloved a lively greeting. A little light show from above to get his attention and a rapid descent to join his side. He wasn’t one to be completely outdone when it sounded as if Thor had something special in mind.

“Don’t keep me in suspense.” Before he could descend completely, he positioned himself to sit on the massive man’s shoulder.

When Thor coo’ed, Tony simply attributed it to his species and moved on. Like a human with a salt n’ pepper capybara or something.

“You spoil me.” He slid his hands up the broad chest before him.

Thor lifts his face away from Tony's forehead.

"You're the one always spoiling me," Thor says. "It's why I asked you what you wanted to begin with."

“I spoil you? You haven’t seen me back home.” Tony shook his head in disbelief and patted his hair back into shape.

"I have," Thor says. "Did you forget you built me an entire room in your tower? Or the suit that you bought for me for the party after we recovered the scepter during our HYDRA raid? Mm?"

That was just a start; there were plenty of other things on top of that, even if Tony didn't want to admit to them.

“That’s different.” Tony brushed him off, tilting his head at a sideways and backwards angle.

Thor reaches out a hand to scritch the back of his head. "How is that any different?"

“We were coworkers. We weren’t dating.” His eyelids fluttered appreciatively. “World of difference.”

"Doesn't matter. Still counts."

“It’s honestly shameful how little I can indulge you and the others. I get creative.” He gave Thor’s chest a few alternating pats. “As do you, I see.”

"Not creative when the idea for it came here," Thor says, tapping the side of Tony's head.

“Alright, for the record,” Tony nearly cut in right over his partner, “any shmuck can ask for a cabin. It takes a special breed to integrate their personal brand of climate control into expedient design.”

Thor grins. "I'll accept your compliment, Stark, if you accept that you've indulged us plenty."

“Fine. What I can’t accept is not doing so as much as I’d like.” Letting his head fall back dramatically once more, Tony used the perspective to get a better look at the ceiling. A lightbulb suddenly went off in his head, but silent he remained.

Thor looks up at the ceiling, trying to find whatever point that he thinks Tony might be looking at.


"What would you like to do?"

“Give you a proper trip to Europe, for starters.” Tony proclaimed as he turned his attention back to his husband. Still utterly criminal he wasn’t there for Italy, but for a haunted funhouse?

"We used to take trips to Europe all the time," Thor says, still idly looking up at the ceiling. It doesn't look bad. "It's when the Midgardians started calling me the God of Thunder."

Straightening Thor’s vest, Tony gave his lapels a firm tug and squinted. “Good. Great. Now get a few centuries more modern.”

Thor chuckles at that. He'd had been in Europe a few times -- Jane's conferences, the Battle of Greenwich, Sokovia, but none of those trips were what he could call recreational.

"I want you to take me to Norway," he says, looking over at Tony. "Can we do that?"

“See the lights.” His dark eyes twinkled in the rays of sun filtering through the window behind Thor, picturing it. “Right?”

Thor smiles. "Yes," he says. "Have you ever seen them?"

“In videos. In pictures.” Tony slowly slid from Thor’s embrace, itching to roam about the humble beginnings.

Thor allows Tony to break free. "I don't think any of them could do it justice," he says, watching Tony as he wanders. "It's one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen across the Nine Realms."

“In the universe?” Blinking where Thor couldn’t see his expression as he stared down the mounted painting, it was hard for even a genius like himself to imagine what spectacles waited in the final frontier.

"One of them, yes," Thor says. He briefly watches as Tony eyes the painting, then glances out the window at the sunlight filtering in through the torn sheets that made their makeshift curtains. "Sovereign is beautiful, but so perfect that you find it eerie. When Nidavellir flares up, it is so tremendous that you feel small and insignificant. And then you have Earth and its aurora borealis."

Eerie. There was a word, but not the one he was looking for—surreal. Yes, that was a good word for dating Ziggy Stardust. Tony spun halfway around, torso twisting atop his hips to regard Thor’s profile.
