I did a lot of physics stuff when I was first starting out as Spider-Man. Newtonian Mechanics kind of stuff, like angular acceleration = gravity * sine(θ). It really helped because when I first started, I kept hitting buildings and stuff.
Scribbled in the margins: Don't worry, I'm a lot better at it now.
But I'm looking a lot at Quantum physics lately too, like Steven Weinberg's stuff about vacuum energy and then eternal inflation and entropy and how it all relates to Multiverse Theory.
You know the Anthropic Principle? "If there are many different conditions throughout our universe, intelligent beings like ourselves will find ourselves only in those conditions that are compatible with us existing." We all know now that Multiverse theory is true because we're all here right now and I know that at least three or four other Peter Parkers exist across other multiverses. Things might seem wildly different because there's multiverses where different versions of us exist or where we don't exist all. But if you look at the big picture, things really aren't that different at all.
When you take string theory and eternal inflation together, the multiverse is way more varied. Inflation says that we can have different regions of space and string theory says that the local physics in all those regions can be different. Because of that, the conditions for life can be crazy different from multiverse to multiverse.
But all the people here are all from places where the conditions for life are the same. I think it's got to mean something. But what? If people are brought here completely randomly, it'd stand to reason that eventually someone would be brought here for which the present conditions for life are not compatible. Right?
I thought at first that maybe there was something that could account for people from the same multiverse showing up. I thought maybe some specific condition had to be met in order for you to be brought here, and that it was all a matter of finding that specific condition to reverse-engineer a way back. But I don't think any of that makes sense now. Maybe it never made sense. Because there are an infinite amount of multiverses, even with extremely specific conditions which coincidentally could still be met by people who knew one another, there should be far more life here. And there should be life that was brought here for which the conditions for life are not compatible.
Scribbled in the margins: Maybe they have been but we just can't observe them?? That's kinda creepy, though.
I was really hoping that science could explain this, but I'm not sure that it can. Even without science explaining it, most people would agree that none of this is random.
I'm just trying to figure out why we were brought here because I don't think I'll ever be able to figure out how or by who/what. Sorry for rambling, Mr. Stark. I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
Planning. Scoping the site for the lab, but theorizing and data collecting waits for no one.
Recruited a fresh face on her first day. Has weather powers and is eager to flex them for the good of the world.
I've taken the camping as far as is practical until further notice. There's nothing especially remarkable about the surrounding topography or any of its features.
Where's that leave me? Figuring that out. Just getting it all on paper is a task. The lab will be the way to organize it but for now, Casa de Stark will have to do.
Just let me know what you need me to do. I have class with the professor this week, but now that Piotr is gone and I don't have art classes anymore, I have some extra free time.
I stopped by Casa de Stark earlier, but you weren't there. What did you do today?
I remember watching your press conference with my mom and dad, though. I didn't remember anything about it except you were eating a hamburger and you said I am Iron Man and everyone freaked out. I re-watched it after you came to our apartment the first time.
